Oil painting is a kind of painting that mixing pigment with transparent plant oil, and paint on dealt wood, cloth or paper. It originated and has been developing in Europe, having become to be an important painting style since modern times. Its precursor is the tempera painting in Europe producing in 15th century. This painting technique became popular in other countries of Western Europe, especially in Venice, Italy.
